Democracy Begins At Home-Cindy Sheehan Begins "Bring Them Home" Tour Dates Update

This is the Navy signal for "ship in distress"- Save Our Souls-SOS !

UPDATE On Cindy's Bring Them Home Tour: The Bring Them Home Now Bus Tour is coming to Columbus on Thursday, September 8th at 1:30 pm, coming to a downtown Columbus location to be announced when permits finalized. They will be leaving on Friday, September 9 at 10 am for Cleveland.

Cindy Sheehan's group and other Gold Star Families for Peace begins a nationwide bus tour today. Prissy heard from Cindy that the ethically challenged Tom Delays office was the first stop on her list.

Gold Star Families for Peace, in conjunction with Military Families Speak Out and other Veteran and Peace organizations, will be in Columbus, Ohio. There will be a display of "empty boots" representing the fallen soldiers of the war in Iraq, by the Quakers Friends organization.

The display of empty boots is a sobering reminder of what this nation has lost. Prissy asks you to keep in mind most of the Iraqis' killed in this war were women and children (about 59% of victims) not insurgents. This holds true in every war that women and children are its primary victims. They are killed by weaponry as well as starvation and disease. What a way to go....

Natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and the damage done to the people of our southern states will be devastating enough, in our attempts to repair . The long term effects on the population, economy and infrastructure are comparable to losses suffered in a war. For instance the city of Fallujah, about the size of Cincinnati has few buildings without structural damage and resulting in thousands of homeless refugees. One was considered an act of God, the other man's choice to make war.

Let us give Cindy's fellow Gold Star Father Bill Mitchell and the other Gold Star Families for Peace a warm Midwestern welcome. They have come a long way to give us a very important message; a message that could change your life.

Prissy left Crawford with a feeling of hope that the American people will take it upon themselves to put an end to the war in Iraq and at the same time take back our Democratic way of life. People telling the government, not government telling the people. Democratically speaking, the people agree to govern themselves. We decided that America would be that way a long, long time ago....

Prissy will provide you with all the details about Cindy's group visiting Columbus as they become available.

An excerpt: The commission, Posner argues, was diligent and well intentioned, but released a final report that was riddled with errors of logic, showed little command of history, and ignored various academic literatures that would have led it to far different conclusions. "The 9/11 commission made a lot of bad recommendations and Congress adopted most of them",he said.

commondreams.org/views03/0603-14.htm Common Dreams-Flashback from June 3, 2003 Excerpt: Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) formally concluded that, "There is no reliable information on whether Iraq is producing and stockpiling chemical weapons" in September 2002, just as Pentagon chief Donald Rumsfeld was telling Congress that the Baghdad "regime has amassed large, clandestine stockpiles of chemical weapons, including VX, sarin, cyclosarin and mustard gas." The accounts by Newsweek and Time were similarly damning. One "informed military source" told Newsweek that when the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) asked the CIA for specific WMD targets that should be destroyed in the first stages of the invasion, the agency only complied reluctantly. But what it provided "was crap," a CENTCOM planner told the magazine, consisting mainly of buildings that were bombed in the first Gulf War in 1991. And agency experts reportedly could not tell the war-planners what agents were located where.

If anyone can give Prissy a fact-based argument of why we are still in Iraq, please write. She would love to hear your logic...

More than one set of "Boots on the ground" has told Prissy the U.S. will be lucky if the new government will have diplomatic relations with the the new government of Iraq-they keep telling us to leave, you see.

Sure we can win each battle, but we have already lost the war. The administration continues to ignore them like they do us. Should we continue to occupy Iraq, this anti-American sentiment will only continue to grow...

President Bush will tour the hurricane devastated Gulf Coast region on Friday and has asked his father, former President George H.W. Bush, and former President Clinton to lead a private fund-raising campaign for victims, the White House said Thursday.

Well now, that is certainly a more appropriate example of "compassionate conservatism" in Prissy's book. Let us hope they all wrote nice fat checks too. The military industrial complex Dwight Eisenhower warned us about is making them big bucks.
