Who Will Protect Our Protectors?

WW II, Korea and Vietnam Vet tired of team Bush!

American Soldiers have long had the admiration of the world for their fearless bravery in a just war. There used to be a day that people felt they were safe when "the Americans had arrived."

Thanks to Chief cock of the walk- and other Chickenhawks in D.C., that shining reputation was tarnished by Vietnam and some claim Korea. Now the shine has been all but forgotten, due to the war in Iraq. The abuse at Abu-Grab and whoever encouraged it should be treated for their affliction of character defects. There is no excuse, despite their hate and deviance.(Prissy's previous posts about working in prisons archived)

What breaks Prissys' heart is that this regime has so grossly misused our good patriots to make the fortunes of friends and personal acquaintances. Now Prissy doesn't know about you, but she sees nothing wrong with wanting the folks around you to do well. But never at the expense of our fellow Americans; our fellow human beings.

To military families,a soldier is not simply a uniform, they are our loved ones. They are everyday hero's and protectors of our Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic.... Prissy hopes for the sake of the soldiers and their families you will stay tuned to news about American forces in Iraq.

The msm certainly cannot be trusted to send the real message on the war front. They have failed repeatedly to identify the strong and growing lack of support here at home for this war. The failure of media is a horrific disservice toward fellow Americans who are willing to give their own lives so that others may live with safety and liberty. Consider this email Prissy received, names removed for safety. That's another thing....these politicians who regulary fail in their duty to represent us also will not hesitate to use their power against those in dissent. How un-American and disappointing. No one trusts our "representatives" to do that...

August 29, 2005 Here is what happened to my family.

My son graduated from High School in 2000. He earned a scholarship to college because of his athletic abilities and talent in track and cross-country. He set his school record, which still has not been beaten.

During his second year in College, he dropped out and joined the Army! We were quite in shock over it, because his college was PAID FOR and he was doing good. But, he felt a patriotic duty to his country after the attack on September 11th.

He believed Bush when he talked about Weapons of Mass Destruction and the threat of Iraq to the USA. He said he needed to protect our country against the WMD's when he joined the Army. A year later he was serving in Korea, doing guard duty on the DMZ. After returning from Korea, he was sent to Iraq.

He served in Iraq, and he learned the truth. There were never any WMD's and there has never been a link to Iraq and 9/11. We all know that Osama bin Laden ADMITTED to the attack on 9/11 and we all know that, bin Laden has never been in Iraq.

It is not good over in Iraq, the people HATE US.

My son went through pure hell in Iraq. I have always supported him and all the troops. However, as a Military family we cannot support the ill-conceived war in Iraq. We do not understand why our President would put our troops in harms way, without thoroughly checking out the evidence. Bush and his "Bring Em On" macho mentality, put us in a deadly situation, with no exit plan. He tells us to be patient, but he does not have any family in Iraq? How patient would he be if his twins were there? He tells us that things are going good in Iraq, but, as a Military family, we refuse to live in his "fantasy land" make-believe world. We know better.

We are hard working, conservative Republicans, who had originally voted for George W. Bush, but then we changed and voted for Kerry. We do not believe the lies of Bush any more. We have lived through it and sacrificed much more than he ever has.

My son is proud of serving his country and we are very proud of our son. BUT, we are not proud of a President that has never served in combat and cannot have enough courage to admit to a mistake and correct it. He does not have enough courage to face a grieving mom and tell her why her son died.

Bush is too arrogant to admit that it was wrong to go to Iraq. Yes, Saddam was a bad, evil person, but there are many bad evil dictators in the world,do we need to declare war on all of them? Where are we going to get the troops? Can he or others in Congress send their kids?

Dear Readers, this is the sum attitude of more military families than Prissy can count. Military families who have information, also have questions and we want answers.

Start calling and writing to your representatives and tell them you want our soldiers to start packing....we need them here. The DOD/Media has conflicting accounts about how many Guard soldiers they were able to activate for Hurrican Katrina. Obviously that is not a good sign, Americans are being wiped out as we speak.... Will you choose to wait until this country is a hollow shell of her former self? Prissy is no radical, but the time has come to demand action. Do not stop knocking at their doors until we get it. They owe it to our soldiers and to us.

Most victims were women and children who "died by drowning or being trampled" after panic swept a throng of thousands as they headed to a religious ceremony, an Interior Ministry official said.

In fiscal year 2006, the New Orleans district of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is bracing for a record $71.2 million reduction in federal funding.

It would be the largest single-year funding loss ever for the New Orleans district, Corps officials said.

I've been here over 30 years and I've never seen this level of reduction, said Al Naomi, project manager for the New Orleans district. I think part of the problem is it's not so much the reduction, it's the drastic reduction in one fiscal year. It's the immediacy of the reduction that I think is the hardest thing to adapt to.

There is an economic ripple effect, too. The cuts mean major hurricane and flood protection projects will not be awarded to local engineering firms. Also, a study to determine ways to protect the region from a Category 5 hurricane has been shelved for now.

And One More....
