John Edwards Visits Columbus.......Hot Links

Senator John Edwards brought the some respite from the the thunderstorms and driving rains here in Columbus....Sounds like he's earned his nickname as the former sunny, energetic Senator from North Carolina.

The speakers were thought provoking and informative, especially the young mother who spoke about what it was like living on minimum wage. The minimum wage in Ohio is $5.15 per hour and has not changed in 15 years. The minimum wage in Ohio is lower than the minimum wage in the Virgin Islands. Prissy says get used to it, because if we pick more of the same leadership that we currently have in charge of this country minimum wage jobs could become the few jobs that won't be shipped overseas.

However, Prissy feels Senator Edwards is one of the few politicians in this country who is willing to honestly assess the precarious situation this country is truly in. More importantly, he is actively seeking and working on some solutions.

Prissy feels because he makes himself accessible to people, he is more aware and would certainly have the good sense to see changing course was necessary if the present one was failing. (Prissy sees the Bush administration and Congress consistently unable and unwilling to adapt, improvise and overcome!)

But not because of our so called patriotic corporations- only because someone in Nepal cannot serve those failure fries to someone in D.C.

As for all the rest of us? Well, perhaps you are aware that the jobs are continuing to stream out of this country at a rapid rate. Cheaper labor is elsewhere, don't you know. Americans want too much money for their labor, these corporations tell us.

No. Americans- like other people , find it unacceptable to work 60-80 hours per week -just to make the rent in a bad neighborhood. Prissy would like to know who they expect to mind the children-the ones already here in this "culture of life"...or shall we let them be our future juvenile delinquents- pay it now or pay it later. Granny is correct to state this to be penny wise and pound foolish.

Prissy laughs with mirth at the corporation short sighted greed. Keep shipping out American jobs, keep shipping in cheap goods-and let's not forget the illegal aliens willing to work for nothing. (Ohio has lost over 250,000 decent wage manufactoring jobs in the last four years)

After all, they certainly won't complain as much as those lazy American workers who have the nerve to expect a living wage for their labors.

Legal workers are very inconvenient about expecting companies to follow health and safety rules, too. Naturally, employees who can be threatened with deportation are certainly more cooperative-they don't apply for Workers Comp when they get hurt on the job. They are willing to as work hard as most Americans and complaints amongst illegal employees are of course, non-existent. Lest anyone forget, the original premise of having trade unions was to prevent workers from continued exploitment.

Some companies will whine and say to Prissy, "we can't make it here, the wages are just to high to pay out." Gee, one wouldn't think that would be much problem, considering the tax breaks and off shore accounts of many of these corporations. Horrors, then they may not get their outlandish bonuses for selling out America.

After all, if America gets too ghetto for them, their homes abroad will due just fine. They are not patriots, they simply love unbridled American Capitalism...

Especially now that their fine leader has removed so many "obstacles" (a.k.a. laws and environmental regulations) for doing business. What good will the money be when we can not breath the air-air quality is bad in Ohio-we have days we're advised not to let children play outside. What will this be like in twenty years?

Prissy would like the greedy CEO's to answer this question....If they manage to run all the decent paying jobs out of America, giving them to countries where they can exploit people for 10 cents per hour and work them like animals, while at the same time eliminating the middle class in the United States......do tell Prissy......

Our mission in Iraq is clear. We are hunting down the terrorists. We are helping Iraqis build a free nation that is an ally in the war on terror. We are advancing freedom in the broader Middle East. Quite frankly, Prissy has heard more than enough of this nonsense.

What he meant:

We took Iraq for various reasons, we as businessmen think they were good reasons. America needs future oil reserves and guess who's got 'em? Plus, we thought this was going to be a cake walk, so what if it wasn't. If we have to turn those people and their infrastructure into dust to give them Bush Democracy, so be it. The American military can do it and will do it upon my orders- I AM their Commander-in-Chief. It doesn't make a shits bit of difference to me if soldiers die-what do they think they signed up for? (Why did you enlist, W? -PP)

We make every effort so that you the American people don't have to disturb your lives for this war at all....we keep the dead out of the news as much as the press will allow...which is alot if they're corporate. (he winks)

Peace, I believe is through strength-but not the kind of pussyfooting means Jesus talked about. I'm talkin' boot stomping, city crushing brute force to bring these people the Democracy they crave. The wonderful soldiers and their families, who so willing give their loved ones lives for my cause-why can't the rest of you shut-up and act like the good Americans before us?

This photo op is going to be a great recruiting tool-but if not, there's always the draft. Sure the American people might not like it-but they should know by know I don't give a damn about the ones who refused to vote for me-even if it is more than half the country.

I say I believe in Jesus and in your mind that should mean I am a good Christian-because I am a man and I said that outloud.

Just like the negative American people who are against their own President, the Iraqis will see this President always gets his way-if I need to change some laws to keep your kind quiet, I will, and (he's laughing now) do it under the guise (now slapping his knee) to secure freedom and liberty for the American people. (stops laughing, now squinting his eyes) I'm hear to tell you, this President isn't afraid to do that.

Prissy is a fan of America, but not of politicians, per say....but the Senator is a different story. Prissy likes the Senator for sound reasons-intelligence, common sense and he is in touch with the heart of America. He actually believes if you and I do well, that is good for the whole country, and so it is. That spirit is what has always been what is great about America. It didn't matter if you were born dirt poor, you still had a decent shot at a decent life if one worked hard enough. Not anymore, one can work three jobs in America today and still not have enough to meet basic living expenses-and have no health coverage to boot, as Granny says.

Other reasons Prissy thinks the Senator will make a fine President are many-but this is the main one....John Edwards is a classic- middle- class- boy- done- good. He is a genuine person, he has been through trials in his own family-loss, illness-he understands sometimes people are just unlucky. He has true compassion for Americans who are struggling-as we all should. Growing up in a family of four children, his father was a textile mill worker-textile management was Edwards college undergraduate major before law school. His mother was a homemaker.

His parents provided everything Edwards and his siblings needed to grow up to be stable and contributing adults, even though undoubtedly young John did not have everything his young heart desired. Nor was he given the knowledge at birth, that his life held for him nothing but good things -without his need to labor for them.

Prissy thinks all children should on occasion yearn for something, why else should they aspire at anything to better themselves? We all know spoiled children-Granny says "not even Grandparents like brats". Horrors to the kind of adults they go on to become, those who are born into a life set before them on a silver platter.

They are aware from an early age that regardless of how badly they behave there are no consequences. And look out when reality intrudes on a vision of what they want. They are used to getting what they want and woe to those who stand in their way. Chaos, devastation and destruction are sure to follow. These children are known for foot stomping, toy throwing tantrums and bad tempers. You see, the rules never apply to them.

Sometimes, unfortunately, they even go on to become President.

Will Our Constitution Survive The Bush Administration?

Prissy Looks at The Beauty and The Beast

An Excerpt From Our Lovely Constitution (which Prissy forgot to add in an earlier post)

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

As Americans, we are supposed to believe in the following:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness

Prissy's Sow Factor- A willingness to destroy for personal power and/or financial gain without regard to the long term consequences to all those involved.

Where We Are Now...and Where We Were Then

According to a former Senior CIA analyst before the war:

"America could alter the destiny of the Middle East in a way that probably could not be challenged for decades — not solely by controlling Iraq's oil, but by controlling its water. Even if America didn't occupy the country, once Mr. Hussein's Baath Party is driven from power, many lucrative opportunities would open up for American companies.

All that is needed to get us into war is one clear reason for acting, one that would be generally persuasive. But efforts to link the Iraqis directly to Osama bin Laden have proved inconclusive. Assertions that Iraq threatens its neighbors have also failed to create much resolve; in its present debilitated condition — thanks to United Nations sanctions — Iraq's conventional forces threaten no one. Perhaps the strongest argument left for taking us to war quickly is that Saddam Hussein has committed human rights atrocities against his people. And the most dramatic case are the accusations about Halabja.

Before we go to war over Halabja, the administration owes the American people the full facts. And if it has other examples of Saddam Hussein gassing Kurds, it must show that they were not pro-Iranian Kurdish guerrillas who died fighting alongside Iranian Revolutionary Guards. Until Washington gives us proof of Saddam Hussein's supposed atrocities, why are we picking on Iraq on human rights grounds, particularly when there are so many other repressive regimes Washington supports? "

Stephen C. Pelletiere is author of "Iraq and the International Oil System: Why America Went to War in the Persian Gulf." Pelletiere was the Central Intelligence Agency's senior political analyst on Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war, and as a professor at the Army War College from 1988 to 2000 was privy to much of the classified material that flowed through Washington having to do with the Persian Gulf. He headed a 1991 Army investigation into how the Iraqis would fight a war against the United States; the classified version of the report went into great detail on the Halabja affair.

Prissy says....Imperialism, anyone? It's quite clear that the Sow factor has been a problem in governments throughout history. Prissy doesn't mean to offend, but have you ever noticed that nearly all bad governments are ruled by... ah.. well....oh, Prissy is so sorry-MEN. It is the ole I don't have enough, gimmee more. If I'm bigger than you and I think I need it or even if I want it, its OK to just take it.

Some global neighbors think America likes to throw up her rules to anyone, at her convenience....let's face it, she's got some great rules in principle...and in writing. Those of us who understand the current American foreign policy of breaking all the rules we ever made are sickened. We are aghast how for some time America has appeared to be on a runaway train...headed full speed into an unmapped tunnel of darkness and told to trust those in charge, overlook that they are afflicted with the Sow factor.

While the officials who create war and chaos may sleep like babies, Prissy and many others like awake tormented by the truth. What will Prissy do about this? Torment others, who by way of their status and education in society should know better-our elected officials. Remember our Constitution requires us to put them on notice.

Now clearly you know by now Prissy isn't advocating "rendition" or anything of that nature. Prissy believes in the Geneva protections. Prissy is asking that you use your position, whatever it may be, to educate others and contact your officials demanding an end to the nonsense they are putting America through.

Let them know you vote, let them know they will continue to hear from you until they begin to address the stream of inconsistencies which continue to spew from the White House and Congress. Tell them you are tired of not being represented fairly by your representatives! They have offended us and they should be made well aware of this.

Prissy urges you to keep tabs on the sites listed in her archives, and pay attention when Constant tells us how to save our Constitution. I urge you to read the Patriot Act-look at Prissy's archive on it. Prissy has worked in security for maximum security prisons (without abusing anyone even once) and Prissy was a nerd girl student in college. So please understand-Prissy isn't one to fly into a tizzy.....but she is very, very worried.

Should the war in Iraq be found illegal, as could conceivably happen, Prissy worries then about the legal position of our soldiers-the politicians who put them there should be put out. They have failed us, the world and the military-never once questioning the validity of this war. Now they don't even want to discuss the abuse that took place under America's watch. Despite their ages, they learned nothing from Vietnam.

Prissy Guest Columnist- Betty Buccaneer- The Slog Of War...Coming up

For Tomorrow...Prissy Takes a Look at US What other countries are saying about the US and our Democracy The Slog of War (Final Draft) by Betty Buccaneer

It's June 25, 2005, and so far this month, 70 American Soldiers have lost their life. Mainstream Media (serving its own billion-dollar interest) have rendered the life of a soldier insignificant. Oh they might receive a brief, honorable mention at the end of some news broadcast. Sure! Your local news may cover the death of a hometown hero returning from war. But for the most part, the plight of the American Soldier remains out of sight, and, out of mind. And for those who brought us this war, that suits them just find. After all, what is the soldier to them except a shield to cover their cowardice and reckless policies? When the incompetence of the Bush Administration is questioned, the soldier is held up as a bright, red, stop sign- cautioning those to look no further. And of course, that is exactly what most Americans do.

In the early days, Vietnam was referred to as a "Conflict". But it was a conflict that cost 58, 148 American lives, and deprived 4 million Vietnamese of theirs. Now the word Theatre is frequently used to describe the Iraq War. But there is no exit from this Theatre. The main character is the Soldier and the villain is Death. Imagine what it takes to play this part. The reason for your deployment is suspect. Death pursues you at every turn. The equipment that is to protect you is inferior. Your fellow soldiers are dying all around you. If you make it home, there are no jobs; and for some, there are no homes. The Veteran's benefits have been slashed. If you should pay the ultimate price, they'll conceal your coffin.

Now imagine if you will, the life of an Iraqi. They're attending Theatre too. It's a show they never asked to star in. Think about 28,000 of some of the most lethal weaponry known dropped on your country. Never mind the 227,000 dropped in 1991. Envision tanks rolling down your suburban street. Perhaps soldiers will kick your door in, and drag Mom and Dad out. Maybe you will have to pick your children's remains from the rubble. How about a glass of sewer water to go with the fish you caught from the river. You know that river, the one with all the corpses.

We've seen this drama before, haven't we? It's called "Daja Vu". How did we get bamboozled this time? Well, the same way we always do. Indeed, Mainstream Media complicity complicit in every death and lie resulting from Bush Administration. But the blame for it- remains our own. Apparently, we love those insipid tales our leaders tell us about our place in the world. Never mind the death and destruction they may cause. It makes us feel safe, right? However, the cost for this false sense of security is high. Our so-called super power status is crumbling.

We are involved in two wars, and there are rumors of more. Our National debt is 7, 818, 665,486,643.00. And if that isn't enough, the world has turned its back on us.

It's time to stop the fiddling America. Don't go to the circus, and stop eating the bread. The survival of our nation is at hand. That distorted, narrow-minded, racist view of the world of ours- has got to go. Therefore, becoming an informed populace is imperative. It is the only avenue to honest and intelligent leadership. Furthermore, we remove from our airwaves the corrupt and irresponsible reporting of mainstream media. They have betrayed the public trust by perpetuating the incompetence of the Bush Administration We must do these things for the future America. We owe to ourselves. We owe it to the world, And certainly, we owe it to our military.

Perhaps author William J. Lederer said it best. In his 1961 book titled National of Sheep, his words are just as accurate today as they were then: The destruction of a mighty nation may be approaching because the activities of one person. He has encouraged leaders to tranquilize the populace with half-truths. He has lured the press into inattention and assisted the people in duping themselves. He has persuaded his fellow citizen's to concentrate on life's comic strips and mindless entertainments to avoid the bruises of reality. The culprit is the person whose eyes scan these words, and whose hands-at this moment-hold this book. The country is the United States of America.

A Note From Prissy: Betty comes from a long line of military, government and banking industry employees. Betty retired from banking- she testified on behalf on banks financial matters. In spite of health problems, she is an active patriotic American who loves the Constitution and Democracy. Betty has an elderly aunt in D.C. who still works every day in the Library of Congress and is an avid patriot. Prissy says- Can you say role model?

Iraq: The Time is Now

Prissy has been hard at work, seeing what the world is saying about the situation in Iraq. It shows no signs of getting better, but plenty argue with evidence to prove that things are getting worse.

The people of Iraq have gone from 2nd world living conditions to 3rd world. Disease is a continuing threat to the population, especially the little ones. Most people would become very emotional, helplessly watching their children become sick. They know there is precious little a parent can do about the situation- except worry and pray.

The Iraqis are getting angry, this Democracy they were promised seems to have them by the throat-they just want the occupiers to leave-NOW.

A New Side Note: Prissy sees the Prime Minister of Iraq is following suit with the President of the US by ignoring the will of the people. And telling tales it cannot prove in order to provide justification for the true lack of action or progress. Are we to tell them this too, is Democracy? Check the last Wolf Blitzer/CNN Quick poll asking we should pull out of Iraq? 100% said YES. Conceding to the enemy? Or to the will of the Iraqi people?

The Coalition knows their services are not wanted-they can't even feel at ease among the population willing to work with them. The Coalition knows these are Iraqis who chose a paycheck over a gun, but probably not by much. They are rapidly tiring of the hand that feeds. Morale is low everywhere, the people, the troops.

Prissy wondered if a ceasefire/withdrawal situation would work-like an OK-OK, we are leaving. Prissy was told by boots on the ground that it is already beyond that...More like a sneak out by the plane load each night... Until we are all gone. So will the White House say the rose petals strewn in the street may never come? No. The White House, continuing to defy reality, paints a happy picture. Prissy feels this nonsense must stop this instant!

Prissy is amused that the so-called wizard behind the curtain has finally stepped out into the camera. Just so you all know who really won the election and runs the show....Prissy sees that as a last ditch effort to salvage the situation.

Those sort always forget and/or disregard a huge part of the equation while they were planning to create your reality. It is the same factor the Communists could never overcome either....The human factor is always the variable, the unpredictable part of any equation. In this case, it wasn't the behavior of the jihadists or Al-Qaida that was unpredictable....It was that of the American People. We love our Constitution and we know what you have done with it. The jig is up.... Bring them home, NOW

Iraqi Lawmakers Call for Foreign Troops to Withdraw By AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE, BAGHDAD

Iraqi lawmakers from across the political spectrum called for the withdrawal of foreign forces from their country in a letter released to the media June 19. The move comes as U.S. President George W. Bush is under increasing domestic pressure to set a timetable for the pullout of American forces in the face of an increasing death toll at the hands of insurgents.

Eighty-two Shiite, Kurdish, Sunni Arab, Christian and communist deputies made the call in a letter sent by Falah Hassan Shanshal of the United Iraqi Alliance (UIA), the largest group in parliament, to speaker Hajem al-Hassani. Some of those who signed urged that a detailed timetable be established for the withdrawal.

There are currently about 160,000 foreign troops in Iraq, including a 138,000-strong U.S. force, which has borne the brunt of attacks against coalition forces. In the letter, Shanshal said the 275-member parliament was the Iraqi people’s legitimate representative and guardian of their interests. ”We have asked in several sessions for occupation troops to withdraw,” the letter said. “Our request was ignored.”

”It is dangerous that the Iraqi government has asked the U.N. Security Council to prolong the stay of occupation forces without consulting representatives of the people who have the mandate for such a decision. ”Therefore we must reject the occupation’s legitimacy and renew our demand for these forces to withdraw,” the letter added.

The U.N. Security Council agreed on May 31 to extend the mandate of multinational forces in Iraq “until the completion of the political process” following a request from the Iraqi government.

”Iraqi security forces have managed to break the back of terrorist groups and maintain security in the streets of Iraq, and have gained the trust of Iraqi citizens to arrive at their final goal, total sovereignty for Iraq.”

The British government does not dispute the validity of the documents leaked to a UK paper last week. Yet the White House and some MSM have referred to these documents as "old news -nothing new there! Indeed, as meaningless as the Pentagon papers....Prissy's crystal ball tells her that the DSM are the beginnings of a very slippery slope for the Bush Administration.

Eventually, when one slings enough mud, one is bound to slip in it oneself.....The White House is getting angry and worried. Prissy feels Mr. Bush treats half of this nation like his abused children. He does not have their best interests at heart, in fact he has convinced them to vote happily, under the guise of patriotism, against their own interests. He beats them and makes them eat dirt, but they love their Daddy anyway, claiming he's really a good man. The whole neighborhood (Washington) knows he beats his kids, but because it may interfere with their own interests, or careers in this case- they look the other way. Besides, who wants to get labeled a "troublemaker."

To tell a nation we are going to stay the course, come what may, is the epitome of an abuser of power and control. An abusers mantra is always the same , "My way or the highway." Lives lost are the price we pay for what, Mr. President? What are we getting from all of this- except heartache, big bills and hatred from the world who doesn't approve of bullies. This administration fails to recognize that the government answers to the People, the People do not answer to the government.

Prissy would love to get the "real scoop" from the wife and kids-but they know better than to tell.

Reality flash to Larry..... Apparently it has not occurred to Mr. DiRita that a soldier can love the military, yet not politics in practice. MOST soldiers are against the war in Iraq, Mr. DiRita. It pains them to see their beloved American military misused in such a way. Commanders in the field are saying flat out, "There is no military solution to the problems in Iraq." On this Prissy stands firm.

Get A New Old Flag

Prissy will continue posts again on Thursday. One cute and nifty idea from an elderly neighbor of Prissy's ....GET A NEW OLD FLAG. Prissy has bought a new version of the original American Flag. Instead of our wonderful American Flag that is currently flown and now heartbreakingly, dripping with innocent blood-at times it is more than Prissy can bear...it now reminds her of young peoples funerals. So instead of our flag with all 50 states that Prissy and Mr. Patriot always flew proudly and well before September 11, 2001- the Patriot family have fallen back on an old faithful, purely American Flag. In fact, its the original 13 Stars and Stripes in a circle, the one flown when our America was full of promise . The dawn of a new day. Perhaps someday again, a new day will dawn in America and she will see how ugly war really is and what it does to the people directly involved-not the armchair warriors who would be the first to retch in disgust at the sights they would witness. Shame on them, in fact shaming them isn't enough, but Prissy knows that will be for a power far higher than any court in the land to decide... Prissy Looks at the Patriot Act- Hot Links

Prissy's friends attending the June 8 Columbus, Ohio protest against Bush, insist she tell the whole story- since MSM will not. This President and Attorney General really are begging for a safe audience these days. Just because they won't bite or shoot, doesn't mean they like you......

The police and troopers attending Bush's visit, who drove by the protest after the speech? Well, Mr. President and AG, it gives Prissy much satisfaction to say that most of them gave her the thumbs up and wave as they passed her and her sign - so your speech, Prissy thinks-didn't have much lasting power. Prissy very much appreciated this. Here in Ohio, the applause you gentlemen received for your speech, we simply call "good manners." Even Prissy would allow her picture to be taken with the two of you-for the sake of history and Prissy's collection.

So ones political advisors shouldn't get too excited, thinking you have the military and police on "your side". Prissy's crystal ball says more like 20-25% percent actually continue to support you. You see, the contempt for your policies and those who uphold them come straight from the middle class that gets hurt by them. The largest part of the middle class now see what's going on, thanks to higher education that you folks want to cut out for our own children. We have brains and are readily able to see through the propaganda.

We are secure in our patriotism and loyalty to America, so using it against us doesn't work. We are completely American and we love American Democracy. We do not usually vote against our own self interests nor those of our children and our senior citizens, making us all the more suspicious of the election results. (Diebold, need I say more?) We will sooner or later, put a stop to them all of the policies of an eventual tyranny because we love our country and our troops. Did I mention we are the majority?

And after all, when the Feds give law enforcement the shaft (Prissy has seen that the new Franklin Co, Ohio Homeland Defense budget was cut by $1Million) you can't REALLY expect them to love you.

The way our military was sent into Iraq-untrained, unequipped without an exit, is unforgivable, but should have been easily forseen, considering who the planners were. Certainly none of you has shown your supposed "good breeding and educations" on that trip abroad.

Another fact apparently overlooked is that many of our police officers and other emergency first responders are also military RESERVISTS. Just whom do you think is left to pick up the slack while their co-workers are fighting your war in Iraq? Do you think these people who weigh evidence every day are OK with seeing their friends die for this cause? Prissy saw it all in her crystal ball of common sense... so did military experts you sent to pasture.

The protest held many precious moments, like when Prissy's friend, Betty "Boom-boom" Buckaneer, yelled to the nice policeman (Prissy was trying to hush her to no avail) "Hey Officer! The President is here! I demand you arrest him, for he has committed crimes!" The Officer laughed and said they wouldn't let him near there.......

The police and military, whom Prissy knows in her heart of hearts love our Constitution far more than they love George Bush, should also know Prissy will stand and shout for them when they cannot. And Prissy is a better public speaker than the President. (Of course, so is Prissy's 4 year old niece)

One Bushie who loves his President regardless of horrific blunders and possible war crimes, sat stone faced, as a passenger in a car passing by Prissy at the protest. Luckily, the traffic was heavy and stone-faces car had to stop, just feet from where Prissy stood, with her sign in hand. The sign said "BRING OUR (MISUSED) TROOPS HOME NOW" with the Military Families Speak Out website address. Now one thing Prissy cannot stand is unkindness, a standard characteristic of Bushies. So she turned her sign over to stone face. Because the other side read "GIVE A DAMN" Even the driver of stone face's car laughed. So did the Vietnam veteran standing near Prissy, who held a large copy of the Constitution. HA

A side note: Has anyone noticed there hasn't been a "terror scare" since November 2004? Hmm...what another amazing coincidence. Prissy's Granny says "there is no such thing as coincidence theory."

Note to Joe Biden (which is it R or D these days?) You will be on Prissy's List next week , when she delves into the foolishness of know little, talk a lot politicians who claim we cannot leave Iraq. Prissy thinks the military knows a whole lot more about war than Biden and she will give you their view of how a pull out should occur.

Prissy and Other Real Patriots Shame Bushies by the Busload

Although President Bush tried to fly in under the radar in Columbus, Prissy and dozens of other wonderful citizens braved the 90 degree temperatures with high sun and high humidity to let him know we care deeply about Democracy.

There were people from all walks of life and ages. Well behaved children, young folks, middle age folks and some old folks too. It was truly a lesson of Democracy in action, as most folks may have come with different agendas-Social Security, Tafts Coin Probe , the 2000 & 2004 Presidential Elections, Trade Unions against outsourcing, the war in Iraq, one main agenda was in common, they wanted the President and his men to know it. We don't like the way Mr. Bush does business with our country.

MSM was there, one local station did give the protesters fair time and it was grand. As for the rest, one mentioned that there were protesters and the other only talked about Bush's great plan for us to all submit to his surveillance. While Bush was citing the virtures of the Patriot Act, he went on to brag about how the Act was used to get a certifiably mentally ill man to admit he was guilty of planning a terrorist act.

The man actually heard "voices".It would have been interesting to see how any lawyer thought this ill man could pull off such a complicated crime. No need for a trial when the "suspect" confesses.

Anyway-the Patriot Act. No. It simply does away with too many checks and balances. We have a secret court F. I. S. A Court (Google FISA Court), that serves much the same purpose-only keeps the checks and balances.

In a parking lot -surveillance is good-on my neighborhood street light-no thanks. To think Prissy could be bent over in the flower bed with a camera trained on who knows what is well over the top.

Prissy cannot help put think that Mr. Bush will not get his way much longer... Over whelming security at an event stocked with (vetted, still!) Ohio State Highway Patrol Officers and yet the protesters were kept and moved far, far from the President's motorcade. This went only to prove this Presidents unpopularity with the American people.

The President surely isn't as popular as Prissy's message, as she cannot begin to count the thumbs-up and waves from police and troopers leaving the Presidents speech. Prissy will be the first say security for America should be a priority. But with the United States economy being drained by the ongoing war in Iraq, we have been drained of the resources to deal with Bush's endless War on Terror.

Open borders, open cockpits, open water and food sources- but that's for the rest of us. Because as you can see, the men with a mandate are taking all the security needed to protect their precious selves....While they order unarmoured mini-vans to transport American soldiers in Iraq. The Administrations buddy CEO's at GM aren't doing so well, you see. (I noticed that didn't stop them from laying off 25,000 employees)

Prissy must say our law enforcement officers were kind to protestors for the most part. The officers were intelligent enough to see this group was no threat to the President and more importantly, unlike our politicians in charge of us all, they recognized our rights.

Prissy's Protesting Bush Thursday in Columbus!

Come one, come all. The President will be in town as the speaker for the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Prissy and friends will be there to let the President know how we feel- "Hey, Hey Bush-Rove! Why do you hate America so?"

George W. Bush will be in Columbus on Thursday, June 9 to talk about the Patriot Act. He will be speaking at a closed event at the State Highway Patrol Academy, 40 East 17th Avenue in Columbus. 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Primary Location: 740 East 17th Avenue across from the Ohio Expo Center (if this location is blocked due to security, please go to the secondary location)

Prissy's Hissy and The War on Terror Unspun

Take a look at what the rest of the world is saying about Iraq and America. At one time, America was a country who encouraged different viewpoints in the hopes that thinking about issues and debating them, we could come to some kind of middle ground of understanding. Something we could all reasonably live with.

Unfortunately, all I have seen since Bush took office is division running strong. I implore you to examine the facts-that is, statements and evidence -not opinions of persons now scrambling to justify sending Americans to die in a desert land as occupiers.

We are not liberators in Iraq, unfortunately. The Coalition Provisional Authority's own poll found out 98 percent of Iraqis view Americans as occupiers. That poll was taken while Paul Bremer was still there-before it really hit the fan. To educate yourselves on what that means to live in an occupied country-read John Steinbeck (1942) classic The Moon is Down . Its 100 pages. As Granny says, "Walk a mile in another's shoes, then see what you think".

Prissy's Points to Ponder:

1) We have a Commander-in-Chief who claims we must "stay the course" yet had no plan for post war phase, along with little cultural understanding of Iraqi people-and no exit strategy. There is no exit strategy. However, we do not own it, do we? It is not our country; it belongs to the Iraqi people, as Bush is so fond of saying.

2) Get your news from more than one source-you might find out, by looking at things through the eyes of a non-American-that most people want the same things the world over. It certainly opened Prissy's eyes. Be aware that things like finding clean water each day to give your kids is a real problem in some countries-so thank your lucky stars it isn't foremost in your daily chores.

3) Stop giving up your liberties to gain a false sense of safety. If you want to feel safe, learn how to handle a weapon (Prissy recommends Glock) or take a class in self-defense. Today's Hot Links - Comments from Prissy

It should not come as such a shock to those of you without family in the military, that some of us patriotic military Americans are angry and sickened by no end seen in the war on Iraq.

If I cataloged every misspoken phrase, each misjudgment, misstrategy and mistake, it is not hard to conclude the Bush Administration has made one misstep after another, with the end result pain and suffering by thousands and thousands of families.

Nearly 1700 dead soldiers - families of over 17,000 soldiers taking care of permanently injured and maimed previously healthy young people, more than 100,000 dead Iraqi civilians (think babies and children drinking sewer water) beheaded contractors and I think you get the picture.

Prissy can tell you things are not getting better; they are in fact, getting worse by the day. Perhaps Prissy has better "connections" than CNNNBCABCCBS ? I suppose it would be difficult to tell the news when it isn't safe to leave protected areas.

Just who is better off for this war and how exactly are they better off? Give us actual specifics and stop insulting me with the platitudes. Getting a straight answer from a politician (especially Republicans) these days is next to impossible. "We are bringing freedom and democracy to the Iraqi people." How is that? By bombing them and their infrastructure, no jobs, sick children and zero safety .(and you know who, that's right, the American taxpayers are footing the bill)

This madness is like a dog whistle only they can hear. The civilians who mostly planned this war are making money hand over fist, while soldier's families are applying for food stamps.

If one presses them on evidence-based facts, one is simply told, "Gee, I hope you don't feel that way." Pardon me? This is what Bush told a "town hall meeting" questioner, asking about the Patriot Act and said he felt it was trampling on our rights to privacy. The facts will be acknowledged but not addressed in any specific detail. In fact, few Senators, few reporters fail to press hard for real answers.

Are any of them aware an American can be stripped of their citizenship by direction of the President? (thank the Patriot Act)

Gauging by the way this Administration has handled "non-citizens" in America and abroad - how safe is this kind of power in the hands of the President and his men?

Does everyone you work with have a high level of integrity? (If the answer is yes, please contact the Priss right away-preferably from your company email account)

Then there is the issue of Social Security, still another plan for the nation with the details being kept in the dark. What will happen to Social Security disability? What happens to Social Security for widows and their children? None of them approaches the subject, no one asks the questions. This is not the American way.

We are a nation of "Why's". This time few asked why and now we are fighting a war with no exit strategy. It is absurd that a patriot like Bush Sr. appears to have no recall of stating in his book that the reason he did not choose to go into Baghdad is because the was "no viable exit strategy". How bad must Iraq be before the situation is properly addressed?

While the war was in the sights of the administration, why did Americans who questioned the need for Iraq's invasion have their loyalty to America questioned?

Dissent is why we have the Declaration of Independence! We wanted to live free! Our country's founding members did not want a government who could freely search and seize its patrons. Nor impede their right to freedom of speech. Prissy once had a Professor who said "should you take away my Bill of Rights say- the 4th Amendment, the 6th, the 8th Amendment and so on, as long as I have the 1st Amendment- I will get them all back."

Our politicians no longer represent the spirit of freedom in America. Power is their goal, not the good of the people or even the good of the country.

Yet they continue to have the audacity to call those in dissent unpatriotic. Don't get Prissy started on the Presstitute in the White House Press pool. These are the same people who also claim to have the moral high ground. Good one.

As they used to say when Prissy was in school, "It's opposite day."
