Will Our Constitution Survive The Bush Administration?

Prissy Looks at The Beauty and The Beast

An Excerpt From Our Lovely Constitution (which Prissy forgot to add in an earlier post)

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

As Americans, we are supposed to believe in the following:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness

Prissy's Sow Factor- A willingness to destroy for personal power and/or financial gain without regard to the long term consequences to all those involved.

Where We Are Now...and Where We Were Then

According to a former Senior CIA analyst before the war:

"America could alter the destiny of the Middle East in a way that probably could not be challenged for decades — not solely by controlling Iraq's oil, but by controlling its water. Even if America didn't occupy the country, once Mr. Hussein's Baath Party is driven from power, many lucrative opportunities would open up for American companies.

All that is needed to get us into war is one clear reason for acting, one that would be generally persuasive. But efforts to link the Iraqis directly to Osama bin Laden have proved inconclusive. Assertions that Iraq threatens its neighbors have also failed to create much resolve; in its present debilitated condition — thanks to United Nations sanctions — Iraq's conventional forces threaten no one. Perhaps the strongest argument left for taking us to war quickly is that Saddam Hussein has committed human rights atrocities against his people. And the most dramatic case are the accusations about Halabja.

Before we go to war over Halabja, the administration owes the American people the full facts. And if it has other examples of Saddam Hussein gassing Kurds, it must show that they were not pro-Iranian Kurdish guerrillas who died fighting alongside Iranian Revolutionary Guards. Until Washington gives us proof of Saddam Hussein's supposed atrocities, why are we picking on Iraq on human rights grounds, particularly when there are so many other repressive regimes Washington supports? "

Stephen C. Pelletiere is author of "Iraq and the International Oil System: Why America Went to War in the Persian Gulf." Pelletiere was the Central Intelligence Agency's senior political analyst on Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war, and as a professor at the Army War College from 1988 to 2000 was privy to much of the classified material that flowed through Washington having to do with the Persian Gulf. He headed a 1991 Army investigation into how the Iraqis would fight a war against the United States; the classified version of the report went into great detail on the Halabja affair.

Prissy says....Imperialism, anyone? It's quite clear that the Sow factor has been a problem in governments throughout history. Prissy doesn't mean to offend, but have you ever noticed that nearly all bad governments are ruled by... ah.. well....oh, Prissy is so sorry-MEN. It is the ole I don't have enough, gimmee more. If I'm bigger than you and I think I need it or even if I want it, its OK to just take it.

Some global neighbors think America likes to throw up her rules to anyone, at her convenience....let's face it, she's got some great rules in principle...and in writing. Those of us who understand the current American foreign policy of breaking all the rules we ever made are sickened. We are aghast how for some time America has appeared to be on a runaway train...headed full speed into an unmapped tunnel of darkness and told to trust those in charge, overlook that they are afflicted with the Sow factor.

While the officials who create war and chaos may sleep like babies, Prissy and many others like awake tormented by the truth. What will Prissy do about this? Torment others, who by way of their status and education in society should know better-our elected officials. Remember our Constitution requires us to put them on notice.

Now clearly you know by now Prissy isn't advocating "rendition" or anything of that nature. Prissy believes in the Geneva protections. Prissy is asking that you use your position, whatever it may be, to educate others and contact your officials demanding an end to the nonsense they are putting America through.

Let them know you vote, let them know they will continue to hear from you until they begin to address the stream of inconsistencies which continue to spew from the White House and Congress. Tell them you are tired of not being represented fairly by your representatives! They have offended us and they should be made well aware of this.

Prissy urges you to keep tabs on the sites listed in her archives, and pay attention when Constant tells us how to save our Constitution. I urge you to read the Patriot Act-look at Prissy's archive on it. Prissy has worked in security for maximum security prisons (without abusing anyone even once) and Prissy was a nerd girl student in college. So please understand-Prissy isn't one to fly into a tizzy.....but she is very, very worried.

Should the war in Iraq be found illegal, as could conceivably happen, Prissy worries then about the legal position of our soldiers-the politicians who put them there should be put out. They have failed us, the world and the military-never once questioning the validity of this war. Now they don't even want to discuss the abuse that took place under America's watch. Despite their ages, they learned nothing from Vietnam.

Joe Biden wants to be President? Prissy says Senator Biden may look terribly Presidential, but America has had enough style...next time we must have substance.

A Side Note: Send this to anyone who still sips the koolaid...Prissy wants you to know this is directly from the email sent to Prissy by an Editor of a large, nationally known newspaper. You see, Prissy had sent him real news and asked why on earth he had not printed it. It was news that had indeed changed Prissy's mind regarding any neccessity of invading Iraq.

(Before the war and the election) It read in part: "when the president's chief political strategist came to meet with us recently, he was trying to get us to stop being so free with information" Chief political strategist...hmm... now whoever could he mean?- PP PS- Prissy appreciates the emails sent by readers with info they would like her to investigate.
