Casualty Count; Is the DOD Playing the Numbers Game?

Well, Prissy has to tell you, she was very leery of stories she has heard regarding the casualty count of soldiers in Iraq. For instance, there are Latino soldiers fighting for the American side, in order to get their American citizenship.

The ugly rumor was these soldiers were being buried in the sands of Iraq, instead of being sent home. There is no hard proof of this rumor, thankfully.

One big nasty that is not a rumor, unfortunately, is that the non-citizen mothers of these soldiers- even the ones who live in America, are not included in the Gold Star Mothers Organization. There is simply no excuse for this.

ANY mother who loses a child fighting on behalf of the United States of America is a Gold Star Mother-whether or not they are a member of your "club". So ladies- if you made such a decision , let it be known now, Prissy finds your meanspirited and heartless ways very un-American. We try to include, not exclude. (or was that the old America?) The fact that you even need to apply for such a club is silly. Either you are or you are not a Blue or Gold Star Mother, no application required.....

Another rumor is that our very own Department of Defense does not factor soldiers who die after reaching the hospital, thus lowering the actual count. Again, no hard evidence, only rumor and speculation in a foreign paper. So far, so good. Because God help them if they are lying, Prissy will not let these issues go away quietly......She will be keeping her eyes on you, Misters.

Military News, Articles and Sites of Interest

Prissy wants you to look at this regarding the casualty counts: http://www.tbrnews.org/Archives/a1682.htm According to TBR News:

Military Personnel who died in German hospitals or en route to German hospitals have not previously been counted. They total about 6,210 as of 1 January, 2005. The ongoing, underreporting of the dead in Iraq, is not accurate. The DoD is deliberately reducing the figures. A review of many foreign news sites show that actual deaths are far higher than the newly reduced ones. Iraqi civilian casualties are never reported but International Red Cross, Red Crescent and UN figures indicate that as of 1 January 2005, the numbers are just under 100,000. by Brian Harring, Domestic Intelligence Reporter

http://icasualties.org/oif/ The site the DOD swears is accurate-Prissy warns you again-you had better not be playing games with these soldiers deaths, you have already played fast and loose with their young lives......

Prissy hasn't and neither should you..... A Classic Excerpt from the article above:

If a mistake was made, a U.S. official suggested, it was more likely due to incompetence not malice. "That's a convenient explanation, but it doesn't satisfy me," Close said. "Incompetence I have not seen in those agencies. I've seen plenty of malice, but I've never seen incompetence."

Well then, Prissy sees malice is more popular than ever in the current administration. In fact, malice is heavily incorporated into this administrations policies.....the good Christians who planned this war must have overlooked the Bible prohibits malice.

A Side Note: The President Advised Recent Military Academy Graduates To Pursue The Possibilities Others Tell You Do Not Exist. "By bringing the spirit of creativity and innovation to work, the U.S. military can accomplish what conventional wisdom says is impossible. "

Yes, how true-but much like all the other Bush "talking points" can be so easily refuted with facts. Creativity is stifled when soldiers are moved around like pawns on a chess board. This President fails to recognize the humanity of our soldiers as well as that of our "enemies". Mind you, Prissy is against anyone shooting at our troops......but as you well know, they aren't being shot at by robots....
