The Pimping of America....Hot Links

Prissy likes to listen to Bobby Kennedy Jr. talk about corporations, high profit margins, the environment and when big business refuse to clean up the by-products and pollution of industry.

He tells us it is really stealing, when they dump toxins into the environment and fail to clean it up. Of course a CEO calls this "capitalism", and making a profit. RFK calls the clean-up, part of the cost of doing business.

RFK is right. And they trash our environment, which costs even more in the long term. Not to mention health problems caused for humans and animals. War also makes waste of the environment. For more google "depleted uranium".

Dubya has rolled back many of the environmental protections since he's taken office. Having the energy policies looked at by head honcho cronies in the energy industry was who Dubya sought "assistance" from. This is just one more example of what Prissy considers to be an abuse of power. We are told the meetings and contents of their talks, which effect us all- are "secret"...Prissy has a feeling that will fit into the puzzle too...

Remember Enron? Now think "home heating fuel prices." Hmm.

Prissy wants to know....Just what good has the "Christian president" done? The list of cons for Dubya far overwhelms the pros.

Excerpt from RFK's article-written in 2003, even more timely today. He speaks of corporate controlled media as well:commondreams.org/views03/1120-01.htm

Today, more than ever, it is critical for American citizens to understand the difference between the free-market capitalism that made our country great and the corporate cronyism that is now corrupting our political process, strangling democracy and devouring our national treasures.

Corporate capitalists do not want free markets, they want dependable profits, and their surest route is to crush competition by controlling government. The rise of fascism across Europe in the 1930s offers many informative lessons on how corporate power can undermine a democracy. In Spain, Germany and Italy, industrialists allied themselves with right-wing leaders who used the provocation of terrorist attacks, continual wars, and invocations of patriotism and homeland security to tame the press, muzzle criticism by opponents and turn government over to corporate control.

Those governments tapped industrial executives to run ministries and poured government money into corporate coffers with lucrative contracts to prosecute wars and build infrastructure. They encouraged friendly corporations to swallow media outlets, and they enriched the wealthiest classes, privatized the commons and pared down constitutional rights, creating short-term prosperity through pollution-based profits and constant wars. Benito Mussolini's inside view of this process led him to complain that "fascism should really be called 'corporatism.' "

Update: Remember the "seized" letter from yesterday? Yahoo News-Al Qaeda in Iraq says Zawahri letter is fake - Web

Excerpt: SPLIT OVER AUTHENTICITY-In Washington, U.S. officials and experts were split on the letter's authenticity.

Ken Katzman, a terrorism expert with the Congressional Research Service -- the in-house think-tank of the U.S. Congress -- said the letter contained elements that raised doubts about its authenticity.

"The purported letter has Zawahri admitting to certain things that it's not realistic for him to admit, because he would know there's a potential this letter might be intercepted," Katzman said.

Indeed...or will yet another expert be slapped down who doesn't tow the line...

Washington Post- Let This Leak Go by Richard Cohen

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/12/AR2005101202002.html?nav=hcmodule

Excerpt from a fool: This is why I want Fitzgerald to leave now. Do not bring trivial charges -- nothing about conspiracies, please -- and nothing about official secrets, most of which are known to hairdressers, mistresses and dog walkers all over town. Please, Mr. Fitzgerald, there's so much crime in Washington already. Don't commit another.

Cohen claims he cannot find out anything about this case-yet makes the assumption Fitzgerald is grasping at straws....I suggest he read Judith Miller's subpoena here: http://pacer.cadc.uscourts.gov/docs/common/opinions/200502/04-3138a.pdf AND information regarding a GAO report authorizing Fitzgerald the money to continue his investigation....(see Constant's Pations) Fitzgerald has his ducks in a row. Help this brave patriot- Mr Cohen, do not hinder such an important investigation. Save your shilling for later, I'm sure by then, they will need your written opinion even more.....if you can get anyone to read it, that is. Readers, they are losing credibility as we speak.

This is Cohen's email address: cohenr@washpost.com

Feel free to let him know he is nearly aiding and abetting treasonous characters....

http://www.vdare.com/roberts/051010_end_war.htmHow To End The War-By Paul Craig Roberts

Excerpt: The congressional mid-term elections are a year away. Moreover, the Democrats have failed as an opposition party and are compromised by their support for the war. Bush has three more years in which to mire America in wider war. If Bush succeeds in starting wars throughout the Middle East, his successor will be stuck with them.

Congressional Democrats and Republicans alike have made it clear that they are going to ignore demonstrations and public opinion. The print and TV media have made it clear that there will be no reporting that will hold the Bush administration accountable for its deceit and delusion.

There still is a way to bring reality to the Bush administration. The public has the Internet. Is the antiwar movement well enough organized to collect via the Internet signatures on petitions for impeachment, perhaps one petition for each state? Millions of signatures would embarrass Bush before the world and embarrass our elected Representatives for their failure to act.

If no one in Congress acted on the petitions, all the rhetoric about war for democracy would fall flat. It would be obvious that there is no democracy in America.

Prissy is with Dr. Roberts. Are you? Then Prissy asks you to write an email or make a phone call to one representative each Monday. They are beginning to get the message-the pressure must increase on them to do so.

CIA: US ignored Iraq turmoil forecasts

The Bush administration paid scant attention to prewar US intelligence on Iraq predicting the ethnic and tribal turmoil that now threatens the future of the country, a newly released 2004 CIA report says.

The report said US policymakers instead concentrated more on the agency's assessments of Iraq's weapons programme, which helped them make the case for the March 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq but which turned out to be flawed and misleading. (emphasis Prissy)

Once again, MSM is AWOL on this. This should be shouted from every corner of the globe...

UK Truthseeker-Formerly "Voice of the White House". Iconoclast-The Worm Turns-October 10, 2005

Excerpt:

“Falsehood is an amorphous monster, conceived in the brain of knaves and brought forth by the breath of fools. It's a mortal pestilence, a miasmic vapor that passes, like a blast from hell, over the face of the world and is gone forever. It may leave death in its wake and disaster dire; it may place on the brow of purity the brand of the courtesan and cover the hero with the stigma of the coward; it may wreck hopes and ruin homes, cause blood to flow and hearts to break; it may pollute the altar and disgrace the throne, corrupt the courts and curse the land, but the lie cannot live forever, and when it's dead and damned there's none so poor as to do it reverence.” William Cowper Brann

And more...

The perceived disregard by the Administration for the sufferings, repeatedly shown on national television, of poor and despised blacks is something that has proven to be a watershed in public opinion but the behavior of the Bush machine has always predicted its inevitable destruction.

Indeed. When we recover, Prissy hopes we strive to become a better nation and global neighbor.

Prissy's Favorite (and timely) Quote of the Day:

Given Fitzgerald's progress, and likely unfettered access to justice, regardless the outcome, it will soon be self-evident that the Constitution will soon suffocate this Tyrant.-Constant's Pations

You are remembered for the rules you break.- General Douglas MacArthur

In politics, stupidity is not a handicap.-Napoleon

In my country we go to prison first and then become President.-Nelson Mandela

A politician will do anything to keep his job - even become a patriot.-William Randolph Hearst

Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself. Mark Twain

Force is all-conquering, but its victories are short-lived. - Abraham Lincoln

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts. - Abraham Lincoln

Here's to breaking out the champaign when the indictments start coming down....The Prissy Patriot will return Friday, sooner if there is any new news!
