Ted, Ted, He's Our Man- If He Can't Save Ohio, No One Can...

Prissy is always skeptical of politicians. Only those with an aptitude for public service need apply. After seeing Ted Strickland speak again, and studying him; he is undoubtedly the only person in this state who has the skill, patience, experience and love for the state to save Ohio from being the next Mississippi. Economically speaking, that is. As in a poor state. Are we there yet?

Ted brings up the excellent point that while we may have a lower unemployment rate, the poverty level continues to rise because the wages are so low. Prissy has seen folks who formerly thought they had secure jobs, in banking and IT firms, lose. The next jobs they had to take paid half as much as their previous job. As the Congressman pointed out-we all lose when that happens. Our middle class is disappearing. People leave the state, taking their skills and educations with them.

Corporations fail to recognize they are killing off their main consumers. How dumb can you get? But fear not, my dear readers, as Ted Strickland is the ideal candidate to take Ohio forward. He does not forget our global neighbors either. He sees how we are all connected and how all of us want a decent place to raise our families. Only the extremist minority really cause all the trouble. But Ted knows all this because of his background. Studying criminology, one learns about 6% of the population cause all of the law enforcement problems.

One doesn't get much more interesting than this guy. Or more rock solid and rational.

Ted Strickland is one of nine children. His parents' house burned down in his early childhood; he remembers his older sister carrying him out of the house that night. They all made it out safe and they were grateful for that. They lost everything. His parents didn't have insurance or savings. He knows poor folks love their children as much as those better off- and sometimes more...

His Dad made their chickencoop into a home until he could convert the barn into a house. Ted said "When you have lived in a chickencoop, there is no place to go but up." Indeed. But that's not all...

He has been ordained a Methodist minister and worked as a director of a troubled kids home. He has been a prison psychologist in a maximum security southern Ohio prison for ten years. And let me tell you-Prissy has been to many a prison when she was teaching. But the only one that scared her, just on the tour- was the one Dr. Strickland was psychologist for. The worst of the worst are housed there. People who liked to kill. Juvenile delinquent boys? Not a problem for Prissy, but Oh, No. Not that place. It was Green Mile scary!

As far as Bush and the rest of corrosive neorepublicans, Ted is onto them. Prissy is certain his background was invaluable in detecting their fraud on the people. Ted Strickland voted against the authorizing Bush the power to use force. He wakes up every morning feeling good about that decision-one others said was political suicide. Ted Strickland is one of Ohio's best and brightest-someone we can be proud of. Unlike...well, Taft and the you-know-who's.

He has been a representative for years-won some-lost some. Each time by a slim margin. He is a strong Democrat in heavily Republican areas. Far too clean for those slimy neoRepublicans. They have redistricted Ted so many times, it looks like they used a cookie cutter to make the changes. Doesn't matter; he still wins. Know why? He's a rare gem. He is a John Kennedy without the fancy upbringing. However, he was well taught. Prissy can see Ted Strickland is comfortable in Congress and the Union Halls.

Ted is all the more reason we have to fix the voting machine problem before this election. Ohio cannot be cheated out of a chance at having this guy at the helm. He is really Ohio's only hope.
