Sunday Edition: Turncoat Joe and the NeoCons

Joe must go...make it official. He is a neoRepublican. He is not a Republican, he is not a Democrat.

During the holiday gathering Prissy attended last night, we spoke little of this DINO (Democrat in name only). No one wanted their blood pressure to rise in the pleasant atmosphere of good company. Besides- we all agree on one thing about Joe; he is consistently not loyal to the people he is supposed to represent.

We can hope Connecticut does the right thing and tells Joe to get out of public service, he must look for a more suitable line of work. Prissy thinks they will, provided they are not counting on Diebold machines in their next election. Joe, like the rest of his neocon friends, went against the wishes of his constituents with his comments about Dubya being president for "three more years" and how Joe was "going to get behind him." You go right ahead and jump on that sinking ship, Joe. The rest of the rats have already left the ship. Good riddance.

Prissy suggests in his next career, Joe be open about his position as financial advisor/lobbyist to large multi-national corporations and his connections to them.

For now, Joe apparently feels a need to be an equivocator along with the rest of the neocons whom allow the war to continue. Coffers not yet full enough? Prissy guesses the 3,000 percent increase in Halliburton stock within one years time was not enough to please all of your friends.

"By way of deception, thou shalt do war..." and Prissy would add " with deception ye shall continue that war against the will of the people."

Setting some kind of new record, "Casino Jack" Abramoff is the common denominator in at least six current scandals swirling around the Bush White House.

Abramoff is now under indictment, along with henchman Adam Kidan, for the SunCruz gambling cruise scandal, with a gangland-style murder attached offering a vivid example of the GOPMOB making someone an offer they couldn't refuse and then whacking them before they could squeal.

Abramoff is also the target of the indictment of David Safavian, and the reason as well for the newest scandal, which leads directly to George W. Bush, the obstruction of justice of a federal probe in Guam.

Lieberman, whom the Bush administration has praised repeatedly for his war stance, defended the president. "It's time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge he'll be commander-in-chief for three more years," the senator said. "We undermine the president's credibility at our nation's peril.

Newsflash to Joe: The president and his cabinet undermined their own credibility when they lied this country into a war-which is illegal in accordance with our own laws. Geez, it's hard to believe Joe is a lawyer when this stuff is 101-but then, so is Scooter...

(General)Kimmitt said the shell belonged to a class of ordnance that Saddam's government said was destroyed before the 1991 Gulf war (search). Experts believe both the sarin and mustard gas weapons date back to that time.

"It was a weapon that we believe was stocked from the ex-regime time and it had been thought to be an ordinary artillery shell set up to explode like an ordinary IED and basically from the detection of that and when it exploded, it indicated that it actually had some sarin in it," Kimmitt said

Attention ALL OHIOANS! www.bbvforums.org/cgi-bin/forums/board-auth.cgi?file=/1954/15567.html Black Box Voting

A law that will make democracy all but moot in Ohio is about to pass the state legislature and to be signed by its Republican governor.[with the lowest governor approval on record (5%-8%)]Despite massive corruption scandals besieging the Ohio GOP, any hope that the Democratic party could win this most crucial swing state in future presidential elections, or carry its pivotal US Senate seat in 2006, are about to end.House Bill 3's most publicized provision will require positive identification before casting a vote. But it also opens voter registration activists to partisan prosecution, exempts electronic voting machines from public scrutiny, quintuples the cost of citizen-requested statewide recounts and makes it illegal to challenge a presidential vote count or, indeed, any federal election result in Ohio. When added to the recently passed HB1, which allows campaign financing to be dominated by the wealthy and by corporations, and along with a Rovian wish list of GOP attacks on the ballot box, democracy in Ohio could be all but over.We should rename the Buckeye State the Diebold State and have done with it.

House Bill 3 is dangerous to democracy. It eliminates the system of checks and balances! Prissy knows folks looking to leave the state, should this bill become law.

christian-bible.com/Ethics/War/bush.osama.htm Is Bush Working for Osama? From Ethics, War and Christian Bible study

The President should care how a war with Iraq looks to the rest of the world. In many countries President Bush is feared more than the dictators that run Iraq, North Korea, and many other countries. These tyrants are ruthless, but they have little power to affect the world. President Bush, on the other hand, has control of the most devastating arsenal of weapons ever known.

Moreover, President Bush can actually use these weapons, including weapons of mass destruction, to destroy any country he thinks is evil. And President Bush has clearly stated that he will do just that, even before the United States is attacked, if he thinks America is in danger.

service.spiegel.de/cache/international/spiegel/0,1518,389789,00.html From Germany's Spiegel-December 10, 2005 AMERICA'S SECRET WAR-On the Trail of the CIA

Since Sept. 11, the CIA has played a vital role in the war on terror. But what role is it? Operating in the shadows, American secret services have been given wide-ranging powers by the Bush Administration. And they include murder, abduction and torture.

From Part II Cheney Goes to the Dark Side... Vice President Richard Cheney, who, even on his good days, increasingly resembles an old-style Soviet general secretary, publicly announced the CIA's change of directions. One has to operate in the shadows, he says. In order to defeat the terrorists, America's agents "have to work the dark side, if you will." If the enemy doesn't play by the rules, then we won't either, is Cheney's message.

www.commondreams.org/headlines05/1209-10.htm Common Dreams-December 9,2005 by Duncan Campbell-'I feel I'm carrying the world on my shoulders' Cindy Sheehan-After Cindy Sheehan's son died in Iraq, her protest outside Bush's Texas ranch became a symbol of opposition to the war. Duncan Campbell joins her as she brings her campaign to Britain.

She has since met many of his fellow soldiers and the sergeant who tried to talk Casey out of going on the mission that killed him. "Casey just said,` 'Where my chief goes, I go', and he left and he was killed. I get feedback from the troops all the time and 99.9% say, 'Keep on doing what you're doing because it's a nightmare here and we want to come home and it's only people like you in the peace movement that give us hope'."

During this trip to Britain, she will address Saturday's International Peace Conference (organised by the Stop the War Coalition), and will also meet members of the Scottish parliament and fellow activists, including Britons who have lost their sons or brothers in the war. Then it will be back to her new home in Berkeley and on with the work for her new book - about how one person can have a political impact by just getting on with it.

She is very unimpressed with Bush's rationale for the war. "He keeps coming up with the same inane speech as though that's going to rally people back to support him. As for his 'national strategy for victory' - wouldn't it have been nice if they had started to plan for that before they invaded in the first place and killed so many brave young Americans like Casey? It's gratifying that America is now opening its eyes and I'm not so wacky and out there by myself any more. We are not the 'extreme' people any more. Look at the polls, George Bush, you're the one who's at the extremes."

The Democrats have also largely been a disappointment, she says, not least Hillary Clinton. "She's very wishy-washy, she's playing the middle because she wants to be president and I look at all the politicians who want to be president and they are basically playing the middle, too," she says. "It obviously didn't work for John Kerry, and I told him: 'If you had come out strongly against the war and said you would start bringing the troops home, you would have won in a landslide'. But he has this memory that he did come out strongly against the war! Howard Dean [the unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic Party nomination] told me the war is a hard issue. No, it's not. Our kids are there being killed and they're killing innocent Iraqis for lies. It's not brain surgery."

Cindy is a true American hero. Prissy is sickened by those who spoke their hate speech and disrespectful words against this Gold Star Mother. Everyone of them who did that was a Chickenhawk. Oh how they claim to love free speech-(Rush, Drudge, O'Reilly, Hannity) but yet not one of those cowards ever donned a uniform or even raised a soldier for their beloved America- now did they? These wealthy blowhards don't even want to pay their fair share of taxes...heaven forbid any of them stand up like men, by not participating or even condemning these attacks on a Gold Star Mother. Prissy wonders what kind of mothers they had...

The Gold Star mothers (like half of the 29 Mothers on ABC's Nightline) who are still for the war especially have Prissy's sympathy. They obviously do not understand yet the truth about this war. What an even greater tragedy that their child's death will be for them, when that understanding comes...and the anger those families will direct toward the leaders who lied to them.

Quotes of the Day

WOW...what would she be like if she really were president? As much as Prissy would love to see a woman president, she would NOT pull the lever for this arrogant little Chickenhawkette...
