Muckraker on why Hayden nomination should not fly EXCLUSIVE: CIA Nominee Hayden Linked to MZM

Hayden, President Bush's pick to replace Porter Goss as head of the CIA, contracted with MZM Inc. for the services of Lt. Gen. James C. King, then a senior vice president of the company, the sources say. MZM was owned and operated by Mitchell Wade, who has admitted to bribing former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham with $1.4 million in money and gifts. Wade has also reportedly told investigators he helped arrange for prostitutes to entertain the disgraced lawmaker, and he continues to cooperate with a federal inquiry into the matter.

King has not been implicated in the growing scandal around Wade's illegal activities. However, federal records show he contributed to some of Wade's favored lawmakers, including $6000 to Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) and $4000 to Rep. Katherine Harris (R-FL).

Before joining MZM in December 2001, King served under Hayden as the NSA's associate deputy director for operations, and as head of the National Imagery and Mapping Agency.

King worked at NSA Headquarters in Ft. Meade, Maryland, in 2004 and 2005, both sources told me. "King was out there working on same floor as Hayden," one former employee with firsthand knowledge of the arrangement said. "He was doing special projects for Hayden as an MZM employee." Neither former employee knew details of King's work for Hayden; one said he thought he was doing "special projects" for the director, while the other speculated it was "high-ranking advisory work."

Geez, if you think that is bad, wait until they get to the sex scandal part...

Boston.com Ex-U.K. colonel: Military lacks resources

Collins said that British forces had long since "abandoned" Basra and the rescue team had to be led to the scene by private security firms to recover the bodies. Once there, they had no equipment to tackle the flames and had to borrow fire extinguishers from the security firms.

"They are doing an amazing job with no resources," he said. "But we have already, in terms of our mission, failed in southern Iraq and we are potentially facing disaster.

"There is now a very clear choice: Either reinforce and give them body armor and fire extinguishers or accept that we have failed and for the sake of those servicemen and other people around them, get them out."

From La Monde French translation into English pdf file President of Iran, Letter to Bush

Prissy would like to speak with him-he sounds like a person who can be reasoned with. Dubya has no diplomatic skills and would just embarrass us all again, anyway.

Condi commented negatively on the letter-before she even read it.

Luttig, 51, a conservative judge, had been mentioned last year as a possible nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court.

He was appointed to the 4th Circuit by former President Bush in 1991, becoming the youngest federal appeals court judge in the country. The Richmond-based appeals court is widely viewed as the most conservative in the nation.

Just as well, we don't need anymore conservative activist judges.

RAW Story Investigator in charge of bribery probe says scandal is 'much bigger' than convicted congressman

California congressman (Duke Cunningham) who was convicted of bribery, has not been helping federal authorities as they continue to probe his "web of corruption," a top Pentagon investigator told a California newspaper Tuesday.

Perhaps more notable, however, is that the special agent in charge of the investigation told the paper, "'This is much bigger and wider than just Randy 'Duke' Cunningham. All that has just not come out yet, but it won't be much longer and then you will know just how widespread this is.'"

There is so much more to this story! Prissy will keep you posted.

Online Journal The biggest con: Democrats & Republicans work together to destroy America, part 2 of 3

As you can see from the CFIUS members list -- all are Bush insiders and cabinet members. Omissions and Lies are reinforced throughout the information pipeline -- talking points and scripts replace the truth. Of 1,500 deals passed through CFIUS during the Bush reign only one has been rejected! In fact, small local newspaper recently reported, "President Bush has approved the takeover by a Dubai-owned company of American plants that make parts for jets and tanks after a review that seems to have satisfied lawmakers who helped block an earlier Dubai deal." The AP report also said, "Initial reaction from Capitol Hill was favorable." (Which 'lawmakers')

Specifically, the Dubai company takes over control of at least nine factories, including military production facilities in Connecticut and Georgia. Dubai settled the deal for $1.2 billion. The corporate media had not reported any of these details to most Americans. Selling our national security interests to the Arabs seems rather risky, don't you think?

So the media lies, omits and ignores important information if it conflicts with the 'official' story, message or goals. Any challenges to power that the media pose are usually safe or intended to suppress further scrutiny of an issue. Disinformation and outright propaganda is disseminated along with credible pieces of information to facilitate redirection or neutralization of inquiries.

As Robert Fisk, a seasoned and honest journalist covering the Middle East, recently stated that stories written with 'officials say,' or 'officials confirmed' have become commonplace in the corporate media. It reflects not only journalistic laziness, but is used to condition Americans to blindly accept 'official' sources. He stated that he no longer consumes any corporate media -- print or TV. I suggest the same -- turn off your TV and stop buying the New York Times -- it's all lies. Occasionally I tune in to see what they are reporting as 'news,' but try to save your mind and use your discrimination in processing their stories and their propaganda techniques -- once the code is cracked you are free to see through their smoke and mirrors.
