Imperialism: America Returns to Her Roots?

(Click to enlarge any photo) Do tell...Why did we bother to leave and start a democracy? Note: There is a planned outage on blogger tonight at 7:00 PM PST.

Today Dubya and Gonzales are holding press to desperately prove their domestic spying on Americans is legal. Dubya said it was okay to spy, because if you are "talkin' to Al-Qaeda, we need to know about it."

Dubya, if they were calling Prissy, rest assured her next call would be to the local police department. NOT any other agency, because as long as Dubya reigns over them, they cannot be completely trusted. Senators Question Gonzales on NSA Wiretaps

Gonzales repeatedly defended the current program as lawful, reasonable and essential to national security. He said the president's authority was strongest in a time of war, and he called the monitoring operations an "early warning system designed for the 21st century." He said no changes in law were needed to accommodate the monitoring.

Really? Then why didn't he use F.I.S.A.? It was made for situations just like this. We are not telling them not to spy on the bad guy here in the U.S.- we just expect Alberto to use a warrant like everyone else.

After all, the legal experts whom decided spying on Americans is okay, also like granting permission to "rendition" innocent people with no paper trail...

What a lame legal defense-with no basis in law! Gonzales was not under oath, yet Katrina victims who testified in front of Congress were?

Prissy is here to tell you-the only place these techniques will stand is in a kangaroo court...or a banana republic. Don't listen to Prissy, then.

Listen to... Elizabeth de la Vega - a former federal prosecutor with more than 20 years of experience. During her tenure, she was a member of the Organized Crime Strike Force and Chief of the San Jose Branch of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California.

De la Vega on Why Rove Will Fall As per De la Vega...For starters, the evidence that Rove deliberately lied to the FBI is overwhelming.

Some say Alito will not support Dubya as he and rest of the neocons may think. Note- this cannot be confirmed-but it is interesting...

I haven't said it lately but I will say it again...Alito needed to be on the court.

This is because he really doesn't like the neocons....A lot, and he also understands all of their scams.

Alito's son had an 'incident' in the white house....since I've been on the case the whole time, I'll just say the incident was rather revealing.

Did Dubya give Alito's son one of his infamous "nicknames" ?

US Department of Defense Pentagon indicated China is the most significant nominee to compete militarily against the US in the medium and long term.

Novak, in an interview, said his sources had come to him with the information. "I didn't dig it out, it was given to me," he said. "They thought it was significant, they gave me the name and I used it."

Wilson and others said such a disclosure would be a violation of the law by the officials, not the columnist.

Novak reported that his "two senior administration officials" told him that it was Plame who suggested sending her husband, Wilson, to Niger.

A senior intelligence official confirmed that Plame was a Directorate of Operations undercover officer who worked "alongside" the operations officers who asked her husband to travel to Niger.

Any further questions? Search Larry Johnson at the top of the page, in this blog. Larry, a Senior CIA analyst, told it all to the British papers and said he hopes Rove "rots in hell." Still haven't seen that in the corporate owned news.

Congress: Its High Crime Have They Read their Job Manual...The Constitution? by Mark S. Tucker February 5, 2006

So, now not only do we have federal treason by hands undetermined in the Vote Fraud issue but also concurrent treason in the violation of the War Powers obliged by the Constitution upon Congress. We see damned few looking into Vote Fraud (Greg Palast used to, now Mark Crispin Miller has picked up the lance) but is anyone looking at this particular Congressional treason staring so brazenly at us? No. And guess what? The matter would include not only those who voted to openly violate the duty but also those who voted against that violation and then stood by as the crime was committed, though they had a duty to report it and raise a ruckus. This means that every single member of Congress is guilty. Yes, even Dennis Kucinich.

Oh come now-Even Dennis? There were a few who did not wish to grant the president the authorization to use force, and they voted against it. Which was, of course the wise choice.

By the way, where is that pre-war intelligence report? The one important enough to shut down the Senate once before. What's the hold up? Shut it down again or I shall send them a bucket full of PrissyBalls...maybe Harry Reid could pass them out to Senators in need.

Cindy's already got PrissyBalls-BIG ones...

Cindy Sheehan: Capitol Police Apology is "Crock of Horse Manure"

Dear Friends,

I just saw the below "apology" on MichaelMoore.com...thanks Eric!

This is the biggest crock of horse manure ever.

Everyone is saying how "wonderful" it is that they apologized to me.

Look at a few things they said: My "initial" conduct wasn't enough to warrant me getting arrested.

None of my conduct was. I didn't yell at the officer, or call anyone an "idiot" like Mrs. Young did.

Secondly, it states the Mrs. Young wasn't arrested because she didn't "return to the gallery."

Why did they arrest me? They didn't even give me the opportunity to leave the gallery.

They had fours hours to figure out that I didn't do anything wrong. The Capitol police tried the tactic of smearing me and lying about me when I was in jail to the media. I guess they didn't count on the Reuters reporter who was sitting right next to me.

No Cindy, they sure did not. Otherwise, they would be showing clips repeatedly of your "temper tantrum,"” but alas, they cannot show what never happened. Prissy would like them to show the actual arrest, which would show the poor judgment they used. And the cops who made the decision to arrest? What were they; raised by wolves?

Apology not accepted, Dubya. Prissy is sure the lawsuit winnings from the violations of her civil rights, will help Cindy continue to fund her quest for accountability for the war upon Iraq.

Prissy believes Cindy was arrested because she was Cindy Sheehan. Plus it would have made the president uncomfortable or even, heaven forbid, ANGRY while making his "State of the Union" address to the nation-which in his mind, anyone in dissent is not a part of...(See Majority of Americans UnAmerican)

Rove couldn't take the chance of this happening on live national television, if Cindy was allowed to attend Dubya's speech.
